Should You Sing Covers or Originals Your Set?

If you are a singer/ songwriter then you may have wondered whether it is better to sing mostly covers and add in a few of your original songs OR whether you can just go ahead and sing an entire gigs worth of your own material.

If you’re anything like me, then you’ll want to fill your set entirely with original music (hello Live Performance Returns!) but in doing so, will you tire your audience out?

If you only sing covers, should you be worried about not having any original music in your performance?

In this week’s episode I’ll explain which is better: covers or originals and what kind of mix you should be including each time you get up there on stage.

Now I’d love to hear from you. Do you sing mostly covers or are you an original music artist? Or if you mix it up, have you found a good balance that works for you?

Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

Love and success
