Vocal Strengthening Exercise
Fun sing-with-me vocal strengthening exercise for if you haven’t sung for a while.
Welcome to 2021! My first video of the year. Late, yes… but there’s a good reason. You see, on Dec 31, 2020 I received the unfortunate news that my beautiful baby boy Ewok (my dog) had advanced liver disease and there was nothing they could do about it. 🙁
So needless to say, I’ve been moping around ever since. Ewok is such a little fighter and he is doing miraculously well on his new liver meds. From what we thought would be just a few weeks left, he’s still going strong, three weeks on. Here’s hoping he stays well for longer!
Of course its all about quality of life for him now and watching for things like not eating or strange behaviour (because the liver disease can end up affecting the brain, etc). He was doing well for the past few days, which meant my mood lifted a bit and I was able to create this tutorial for you.
I hope it helps you as much as it helped me and it goes to show; no matter how long you have been singing for, if you take a long enough break, your voice can quickly lose its strength and start sounding weak and untrained.
So keep up the great work and enjoy the sing-along video.
NOTE: Tutorial starts at 3:00 mark
Gents – we go through low notes at the end. Ladies, we deal with your high notes in the middle of the exercise.
